If you have always wanted more room in your room to hang clothes installing a closet rod can really make a huge difference. They are very inexpensive and very easy to install. In fact they are so easy that there are five simple steps to follow and then in minutes you can enjoy your this new accessory.

Before you start you need to go out and buy the rods you want and then with a few simple tools you can install them yourself.

The tools you need to have are:

  •  A handy tape measure
  • A strong power drill with a 1/8 inch drill bit
  • A Philips Screwdriver with a drill bit
  • A good stud finder
  • Some wood screws

Five Simple Steps

  1. You need to empty out the area you want to install the rods; no clothes should be left inside. Then using your measuring tape, mark the location you want to mount your wall brackets. To figure out how high you want to install this accessory you can use your tallest dress to measure.
  2. Then you use the stud finder to help you locate and mark the studs for the cleats, then you transfer that stud measurements to each of the cleats.
  3. Using your Phillips head screwdriver; screw in cleats at each of the marks you made on the wall.
  4. Then you use your power drill and your 1/8 inch drill bit, to drill holes into each of the cleat of the wall and attach each cleat to the wall using some of the wooden screws.
  5. Next you screw in a mounting bracket to each cleat and slide your hanging rod in place.
